Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad will travel to the United States this summer for their pre-season preparations ahead of the 2024/25 season.
City's trip to the States will be their third successive international visit following the Covid pandemic, and follows a hugely beneficial journey to far east Asia ahead of the ongoing 2023/24 season.
Manchester City travelled to Asia last summer as the men's first team took part in friendly fixtures in South Korea and Japan, taking on Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, as well as fellow City Group outfit Yokohama F. Marinos.
City's last visit to the USA came ahead of their historic treble-winning 2022/23 season, as Pep Guardiola and his players visited Houston and Green Bay for fixture against Club America and Bayern Munich respectively.
And Manchester City fans will be hoping that the United States is a good omen for their squad, with reports on Thursday revealing that Guardiola and his players will re-visit the country that has brought about huge commercial success over the last few years.
That is according to the information of the Manchester Evening News' Simon Bajkowski, who has reported that Manchester City have now decided to head to the United States this summer for their pre-season tour ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
The report points out that City's trip across the Atlantic will be a longer tour than usual, with the club planning a stay of around two-and-a-half weeks in late July and early August while taking on fixtures in four different locations.
As previously reported by The Athletic, Manchester City will take on Premier League rivals Chelsea, with the MEN revealing that that clash has been scheduled to take place in Ohio, with other fixtures against 'top European sides' lined up in North Carolina, New York, and Orlando.
At present, Manchester City are yet to formally announce plans for their 2024 pre-season tour, however demand for tickets is expected to exceed previous seasons with the rapid growth of the club on a global level.
It was recently reported that the reigning Premier League champions were the most-watched English team in all competitions in the United States across 2023, with a total average viewership hitting 36.9 million, according to data from Nielsen.
For context, Manchester United ended 2023 with a total average viewership of 13.4 million.
Manchester City are already confirmed to be visiting the United States next year following their success in last season's UEFA Champions League, with the 21st edition of a revamped and expanded version of the FIFA Club World Cup scheduled to take place in June and July of 2025.
