Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has provided a triple fitness update ahead of Saturday evening's clash with Bournemouth.

The treble-winners travel to the Vitality Stadium this weekend looking to move back to within one point of Premier League leaders Liverpool with a win over Bournemouth.

Manchester City bounced back from last weekend's 1-1 draw with Chelsea with a 1-0 win over Brentford at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night, courtesy of Erling Haaland's second-half goal.

Guardiola omitted Kevin De Bruyne from the starting team against Thomas Frank's side in midweek due to fresh injury concerns, with the Belgian an unused substitute during the victory over the Bees.

The 32-year-old recently returned from a six-month absence after undergoing hamstring surgery in August, but has featured in recent games against Chelsea, FC Copenhagen and Everton.

Manchester City face upcoming crucial games against both Manchester United and Liverpool early next month, and also have an FA Cup fifth round clash against Luton Town next Tuesday.

De Bruyne's injury setback isn't of major concern to Guardiola however, with the midfielder potentially set to feature this weekend at the Vitality Stadium.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Guardiola said: "He's not injured. I don't know if he's 100% but I think we took a good decision not to take a risk (against Brentford). We took a decision because he did not feel comfortable."

The Catalonian also issued an update on the fitness of both Jack Grealish and Josko Gvardiol, with the pair currently sidelined due to injury.

Grealish suffered a calf problem against FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League last-16 first-leg, meanwhile Gvardiol is sidelined due to an ankle ligament injury.

The duo are set to remain unavailable for this weekend's clash with Bournemouth, but could be back in contention next month, with Grealish eying a return for the Manchester derby.

"This week no but they are closer," revealed Guardiola.

Bournemouth haven't won in the Premier League since December, but sit 13th in the table and secured a point against Newcastle last weekend with a 2-2 draw at St James' Park.

City thrashed Andoni Iraola's side in the reverse fixture in November, winning 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium after goals from Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva, Manuel Akanji, Phil Foden and Nathan Ake.
