According to talkSPORT, Manchester City made a bid of PS70 million for West Ham United playmaker Lucas Paqueta.
Manchester City tried to sign West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta West Ham turned it down even though the Brazil international attacking midfielder told the London club he wanted to move to the Etihad Stadium.
TalkSPORT claimed that City subsequently dropped their interest in Paqueta after he "became the subject of an FA betting investigation".
According to the report, City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, signed Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers instead.
Lucas Paqueta dreaming of Manchester City transfer Paqueta is now playing for West Ham and is doing well, but it seems that the PS150,000-a-week (Spotrac) star has still not given up hope of moving to City and playing for manager Pep Guardiola.

According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition October 15th, page 75), Paqueta is dreaming of a transfer to City in the summer of 2024.
The Brazilian reportedly has an PS85 million release clause in his contract that will become active in 2024.
My View: Manchester City do not need Lucas Paqueta In my opinion, Manchester City do not need to sign Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United in the summer of 2024, especially for PS85 million
Of course, Paqueta is a very good player, but I do not see the Brazil international getting into the City starting lineup.
Paqueta is at his best when used as a playmaker, but he is also very good out wide.
Now, maybe the Brazilian could replace Bernardo Silva in the team, but Guardiola already has the likes of Phil Foden, Matheus Nunes and even Rico Lewis to play in midfield.
Perhaps Paqueta could play further upfield as a wide forward, but once again, Foden, Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku are very good options for Guardiola.
I do not think that City should spend PS85 million on a player who may not get into the team.
