Gary Neville has picked Manchester City maestro Kevin De Bruyne as one of the players that would define his perfect Premier League player.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the popular pundit was asked to select active players that are plying their trade in the English top-flight.

Unsurprisingly, Gary Neville selected Kevin De Bruyne, who is widely considered as the best player in the Premier League.

Gary Neville says 'world-class' Kevin De Bruyne is the smartest player in the Premier League Branded as 'outstanding' by Virgil van Dijk (via The Overlap), the PS54 million (Independent) man is universally classed as the best midfielder in the world.

Described as a 'legend' by Jeremy Doku, many firmly believe that the Belgian playmaker is the greatest midfielder to have graced English football as well.

Now, Gary Neville has suggested that Kevin De Bruyne as the most intelligent player in the Premier League, saying, "And for head, I have to go, for all this physicality and strength that I've got in this body and these unbelievably strong hands, I've got to go for Kevin De Bruyne because of his amazing vision, passing ability, precision and a world-class player.

"The Manchester City legend views the game like nobody else Considering Thierry Henry himself crowned Kevin De Bruyne as the most 'clever' player he has encountered both as a player and as a coach, Gary Neville could well have been spot on with his selection.

The treble-winner's tactical intelligence and eye for a final pass is genuinely second to none.

While De Bruyne has always had all the talent in the world, it comes as no surprise that he reached his peak under Guardiola's guidance.

The 32-year-old's understanding of tactics and how to find a balance within a set system has been an underappreciated part of his game over the years.
