Manchester City No.2 Stefan Ortega has lavished praise upon Ederson Moraes for how well he has played this season.

Speaking to Manchester Evening News after starting in City's 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion, the German gave his two cents on the PS35 million (ESPN) man.

Now, Stefan Ortega has acknowledged Ederson Moraes' brilliant displays so far this campaign.

Stefan Ortega says Ederson has been elite this season Pep Guardiola, who admitted that he decided to rest the 30-year-old against Roberto De Zerbi's side led to his understudy getting a rare start.

Ortega made a huge save to deny Mitoma, who was clean through on goal but his distribution on the day was uncharacteristically wayward.

After the contest, Stefan Ortega highlighted his desire to play more regularly while admitting that Ederson has been top class once again this season.

Ederson continues to be underrated by the masses Stefan Ortega is spot on about Ederson, who has once again looked in terrific touch this term.

It goes without saying that on the ball, the former Benfica goalkeeper has been a dream.

But even from a shotstopping perspective, Ederson has come up clutch on a number of occasions.

There has been a marked improvement in the five-time Premier League winner's game since last season, especially as a traditional goalkeeper, which was displayed in the Champions League in particular.

Yet, this reputation of Ederson merely being elite with his feet persists among several sections of fans and pundits alike.

The truth is that the improvement that the decorated No.1 has made alongside his importance to his side's system is often taken for granted.
