Pep Guardiola raves about 'really good' Stefan Ortega Branded as an 'incredible signing' by Guardiola (via Manchester City's official website) in the past, the 30-year-old has emerged as one of the best No.2's in European football.

However, Ortega himself admitted that he aims to become a much more regular fixture in the Sky Blues side instead of simply just being an understudy to Ederson.

Stefan Ortega is one of the best No.2's in the world Pep Guardiola is bang on about Stefan Ortega, as his distribution is simply phenomenal.

In fact, it was surprising to witness the treble-winner's passing being wayward against Brighton, as he usually is excellent in this respect.

But one game aside, there is a strong case to be made for Stefan Ortega to be one of the best backup goalkeepers in the world.

Of course, names like Aaron Ramsdale, Keylor Navas and Sven Ulreich instantly spring to mind as some of the best in the business.

But Ortega is up there amongst the cream of the crop, as both from a ball-playing as well as a shotstopping perspective, he leaves no stone unturned.

Stefan Ortega is the perfect fit for Manchester City and it is impressive how reliable he is when thrown into the deep end in high-stakes affairs such as the FA Cup final against Manchester United last season.
