Manchester City have announced their 22-man travelling squad to face RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

Pep Guardiola's side are preparing to take on RB Leipzig in matchday two of the UEFA Champions League Group Stages in midweek, after kicking-off the defence of their European crown with a 3-1 victory over Red Star Belgrade last month.

Manchester City came from behind to beat the Serbian outfit, courtesy of a second-half brace from Julian Alvarez and a sublime strike from defensive midfield mainstay Rodrigo at the Etihad Stadium.

Rodri will be available for Manchester City in east Germany on Wednesday night, after missing defeats against Newcastle United and Wolves due to a three-match suspension for violent conduct, following a recent altercation with Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest.

The Spaniard has missed losses to both Newcastle and Wolves, as the Blues abruptly crashed out of the Carabao Cup at St James' Park, and suffered a first Premier League defeat of the season at Molineux.

Pep Guardiola saw his side emphatically thrash RB Leipzig last season, winning 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium during the last-16 second-leg clash, with Erling Haaland scoring an incredible five goals.

The Blues did draw 1-1 on their last visit to the Red Bull Arena however, and Marco Rose's side have become a familiar recent opponent, with the two teams set to meet for the fifth time in less than three years, this week.

Ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash in Leipzig, Pep Guardiola has named his travelling squad for the contest at the Red Bull Arena.

Defenders: Lewis, Walker, Dias, Stones, Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol, Gomez

John Stones and Bernardo Silva both return to Manchester City matchday action following recent injury problems, while the Englishman is looking to register his first minutes of the competitive season.

Bernardo returns to action following a problem sustained in the first-half of the matchday one encounter against Crvena zvezda, and both players are welcome boosts ahead of the weekend's Premier League showdown with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
