Man City celebrate record breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title

Erling Haaland's agent insists that the Norwegian goal machine is happy at Manchester City - after claiming he is now on course to take his earnings through the PS1billion barrier.

Rafaela Pimenta, the Brazilian lawyer who advises Haaland, has dismissed any suggestion that the two-time Golden Boot could walk away from the Etihad this summer now that a PS175million buy-out clause in his contract can be triggered by foreign clubs.

City are hoping to persuade the 23-year-old to sign a new deal in the coming months that would allow them to renegotiate the clause. And Pimenta confirmed he's fully committed to the record-breaking Premier League champions.

Asked if Haaland could now be a one-club man, Pimenta told Flashscore: "I don't know - but I think the Erling Haaland project will last over time, over the next few years.

Pimenta sent shockwaves through the game when she suggested last year that Haaland's potential wealth could no longer be measured in millions of pounds. She feels the 52 goals he scored when Pep Guardiola's team won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup Treble in 2023 has only increased his commercial value even further.

Haaland retained the Golden Boot last season as the Blues lifted the title for a record fourth successive time. Pimenta added: "When I said that this amount corresponded to his (Haaland's) value, I wasn't talking about his transfer value.

"I was referring to the value of a top player at that age, with enormous room for improvement - and when I said that, he hadn't even done the Treble. A player who finished as top scorer in the Premier League despite being injured for two months...he's a player with great potential.

"He's been at Manchester City for two years now and there's never been any gossip about him. His profile represents a huge value in the eyes of sponsors and clubs, as well as in terms of shirt sales and media exposure. And all that, put together: ticket sales, TV rights, everything, Erling will earn over the course of his career, I'm convinced it will exceed a billion."

Following the death of super-agent Mino Raiola in 2022, Pimenta took over his clients and she has opened up on the tragic passing - and how Haaland's move to City felt "bittersweet".

She added: "To talk about the transfer, I don't think this story belongs to me. It belongs to Erling Haaland. It belongs to Manchester City. I was there as an advisor. If I tell you about the transfer, perhaps I'm going to tell you something that doesn't belong to me.

"What I'm about to tell you is sad. Because, from my perspective, the Haaland transfer tasted bittersweet. In other words, sweet and bitter at the same time. And why was that? Because Mino wasn't there.

"And I would have loved to have been with him at that moment, at the time of the transfer, at the time of the signing and especially at the time of Haaland's first match. That match was a moment of joy for everyone. But personally, I had tears in my eyes because I was thinking about Mino."
