Liverpool have Michael Olise 'advantage' over Chelsea and Man Utd as release clause 'details' emerge
Source:Latest News

It's hardly a surprise that Michael Olise is a man in demand.

The Crystal Palace winger has plenty of potential suitors heading into the summer transfer window. Olise fired 10 goals and record six assists in just 14 Premier League starts in the 2023-24 season.

Despite having hamstring issues, he hit blistering form after Oliver Glasner took over from Roy Hodgson as Selhurst Park boss in February, with Palace finishing 10th in the table.

Olise was the subject of interest from Chelsea last summer before he committed his future to the Eagles by signing a new contract. But the France youth international is reportedly coveted by a host of clubs.

Liverpool are one of the sides linked with a switch for Olise. Chelsea have reportedly reignited their interest while Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United are among the other sides who are said to covet the 22-year-old's signature.

There have been suggestions that Chelsea are the current frontrunners to land Olise. The Mirror reports that the Stamford Bridge outfit have made the first move to sign the former Reading man, with Liverpool also making contact. Palace are said to be demanding between PS60-70 million for Olise, who is tied down until 2027.

Olise has been regarded as a potential long-term replacement for Mo Salah, who has a year remaining on his current deal. But Liverpool could have one advantage over Chelsea, as well as Manchester United and Newcastle.

That is because the Telegraph reports that Olise may have a release clause can only be triggered by Champions League clubs. Liverpool are preparing for life back in Europe's elite club competition after finishing third in the Premier League last term.

Chelsea, however, will be competing in the Europa Conference League. They claimed sixth spot but Manchester United earned qualification to the Europa League for winning the FA Cup.
