'Class': Jack Grealish was very impressed by midfielder who Leeds reportedly want to sign last season

Leeds United have been linked with one of the Championship's best attacking midfielders in the last 24 hours and Jack Grealish's verdict should have fans excited.

The Manchester City star was very impressed with what he saw after watching him last season, with Leeds among the sides reportedly ready to make a move.

Leeds will be able to start signing players for the next two-and-a-half-months from today with the window now officially open for business.

It is likely to be a busy one at Elland Road and clearly things are already going on in the background following Brenden Aaronson's decision to return to Leeds next season.

Aaronson opted to reject offers from the likes of Union Berlin in favour of giving it another go, with talks with manager Daniel Farke playing a key role behind-the-scenes.

Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter both had long spells in that role but neither are really proper attacking midfielders and so clearly it is something Leeds are looking to address.

And alongside Aaronson, it has been reported in the last 24 hours that Leeds are now in the race for Coventry City star Callum O'Hare, who is out of contract this month.

After returning from injury, O'Hare netted nine goals in all competitions last season and is one of the best attacking midfielders in the division.

O'Hare made his recovery from a serious knee ligament injury in October and on just his second start back, netted both goals in a 2-0 win over Birmingham City in December.

City attacker Grealish knows O'Hare well from his days at Aston Villa and watched the 26-year-old in action that night, clearly impressed with what he saw.

Writing on his Instagram story, via FLW, he said: "Well done son. Good to see you back after your injury. Class tonight."

O'Hare would be a superb signing for Leeds If Leeds can get a deal done for O'Hare, it would instantly become one of their signings of the summer, particularly on a free.

Leeds would go from having no proper number 10s to two in a short space of time and really give an area of the squad they lacked depth some real strength.

The Championship is a long 46 game season and having O'Hare and Aaronson alternating in that role would keep them both fresh for the full campaign, without a significant drop in quality.

Hopefully Leeds can beat the rest of the chasing pack to his signature and send a real statement of intent to the rest of the division.
