How to watch Premier League as fixtures announced
Source:Digital Spy

The 2024/25 Premier League season fixtures are out ahead of the first match of the season in mid-August. But can anyone stop Manchester City from dominating the top tier of men's league football?

Pep Guardiola's side made history last season by winning the Premier League for the fourth year in a row - the first men's side to do this in the history of English league football.

Liverpool and Arsenal tried their best to take the fight to them last time out - they'll be hoping they're in with a good chance this year once Euro 2024 is over and club football takes centre stage once again.

The Premier League also welcomes Ipswich Town back to the top flight for the first time in 22 years, while Leicester City and Southampton also make a quick return from the Championship.

Elsewhere, after a challenging Premier League campaign last season that saw Manchester United place eighth, the team and its returning manager Erik ten Hag will be hoping to channel the momentum that saw them take a dramatic FA Cup victory against their local rivals Manchester City.

Here's the latest on the Premier League schedule and fixtures announcement - as well as how you can tune in for the whole season.

Premier League 2024/25 fixtures, schedule and key dates The 2024/25 Premier League schedule was released in full today, and the league's dedicated fixtures page is updated throughout the season so you can see which games have been selected for broadcast (as regular viewers will know already, these are announced in waves rather than all at once).

You can filter the listings by club and even check out schedules for other competitions like the FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League. There are separate tabs for Premier League 2 and the under-18s Premier League fixture schedules, too.

The 2023/24 Premier League season started on Friday, August 17, and concludes on Sunday, May 25. The league's 380 matches will be played across 33 weekends, with four midweek matchdays and one bank holiday matchday (which, you guessed it, is Boxing Day).

However, remember that Premier League matches are often moved due to all sorts of factors such as broadcasting schedules, policing and safety considerations, and clubs' other commitments to competitions like the FA Cup, EFL (Carabao) Cup and European tournaments.

While there isn't a winter break this year, the Premier League has confirmed no fixtures on Christmas Eve and a schedule that means "no club playing within 60 hours of another match".

In explaining the rationale behind removing the winter break, the Premier League said that this is to allow all clubs "to be better able to ensure that players get a consecutive three-week break in the summer.

"This takes into account expert advice from medical and technical departments, which values a longer period of complete rest in the summer rather than a short break in the winter."

Meanwhile, if you're hoping for some solid transfers for your favourite Premier League club, the summer transfer window is now open until Friday, August 30 at 11pm UK time.

The winter 2025 transfer window opens on Wednesday, January 1 and closes on Monday, February 3 at 11pm.

Premier League 2024/25 on TV - how to watch live This is the last year of the current Premier League live TV rights-sharing arrangement between Sky Sports, TNT Sports and Amazon's Prime Video service.

From the 2025/26 season until 2028/29, just two pay broadcasters, Sky Sports and TNT Sports will share live rights in the UK.

Sky will increase the number of live fixtures it broadcasts by 70%, to 215 games - and it will air every match on the league's final day under the new deal. TNT Sports will broadcast 52 matches per season under the new deal.

Amazon's future focus will move to UEFA Champions League broadcasting, where they will share rights with TNT Sports from this season until the end of the 2026/27 season. And of course, free highlights coverage will continue to air on BBC Sport via its flagship programmes Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2.

Some international broadcast rights are renegotiated on a slightly different timescale, with the league renewing its US broadcast deal with NBC until 2028.
