'Have to': Cesc Fabregas now shares what Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham simply must do in the England team
Source:Manchester City

Cesc Fabregas has stated that Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham must do one particular thing while playing for England.

After England's 1-0 win against Serbia, Fabregas claimed that Foden must demand the ball in a game as much as Bellingham does.

When Gareth Southgate's side drew 1-1 to Denmark, the Manchester City midfielder was far more involved in proceedings. Foden's long shot in the second half struck the post, as he looked like much more of a threat in central areas.

The Three Lions put in a drab display and on the balance of play, one would fairly state that Denmark were the superior team.

On Tuesday, England have a chance to return to winning ways as they face Slovenia.

Cesc Fabregas feels Foden and Bellingham must develop an understanding and look to find each other as much as possible on the pitch.

Rio Ferdinand asked on FIVE's official challenge: "Is it also about the other teammates identifying who the go-to guy is as well? It's Jude Bellingham, it could be Phil [Foden], it might be [Harry] Kane or [Bukayo] Saka. Do you need to know the guy?"

Cesc Fabregas said: "Yeah, I mean, the better options you have, obviously, much better. I believe as well in connections. Jude and Phil, they have to find each other. They have to create the bond, yes, feel the connection."

"But this is not coachable sometimes. This is either you feel, from day one, I remember, Diego Costa and I [at Chelsea]. We connected without even knowing each other, we looked at each other and said, this is your strength, these are my strengths and let's work together. Game intelligence."

Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham should be working on that behind the scenes Foden and Bellingham should take Fabregas' advice on board, considering he remains one of his generation's best midfielders.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona technician won the World Cup but two European Championship titles with Spain as well.

Fabregas also played in a wide variety of roles for both club and country during his playing career.

As a result, it would be best for both Foden and Bellingham, as individuals and England collectively if the pair found a way to gel with each other on the pitch.

The English duo should be working on how to strike a dangerous partnership with each other in training - revealing their respective strengths, the areas of the pitch where they want the ball, the angles at which they wish to receive it and other such aspects.

If Foden and Bellingham, two mercurial talents find a way to connect on the pitch, Fabregas' advice could lead England to winning Euro 2024.
