Hertha Berlin coach Oliver Reiss, 41, is in talks to take over as coach of Manchester City's Under-18 side.

The German is currently in charge of Hertha's Under-19 side and has overseen 57 games since his appointment in 2022.

He had previosuly worked as the Under-17 coach and been the U-19 assistant manager, having been with the German side as a coach for a total of 17 years.

Reiss is, however, now ready for the next step in his career and is nearing an appointment to lead City's U-18 side.

His style is viewed as similar to that of first team manager Pep Guardiola, meaning players will be coached to play the way the Spaniard wants to before they make the potential jump up.
