Manchester City have shown in previous transfer windows that they aren't against selling some of their young talents.

For example, names such as James Trafford, Tommy Doyle, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Shea Charles have all been sold to other clubs in recent memory.

Despite that, Pep Guardiola's side still managed to strengthen their dominance in English football by becoming the first side to win four Premier League trophies in a row at the end of last season.

Now that another summer transfer period is underway, another young player has waved goodbye to the Etihad Stadium to start a new chapter in his career.

City will be hoping to benefit from Fiorini's sell-on clause During his time in City's academy, the midfielder featured in 38 games in total, scoring 12 goals and delivering five assists along the way.

The Scotsman also completed numerous loan spells away from City at clubs such as Lincoln City, NAC Breda, Blackpool and Charlton Athletic.

When he joined Charlton back in January, Michael Appleton described Fiorini as a "top-class character" on the club's official website.

Unfortunately, the midfielder only went on to make five appearances for the Addicks between his arrival and the end of the previous campaign in League One, coming off the substitutes bench on all five occasions.

Now that the midfielder has finally cut ties with the club he's been with since he was a youngster, everyone will undoubtedly be hoping that he can be a success with Stockport and City can potentially reap the benefits of the high sell-on clause they have on him.
