In a recent report, The Sun stated that Manchester City are keeping a keen eye on Red Bull Leipzig playmaker Dani Olmo. It has been claimed that the Mancunian club are hoping to get a deal done for the Spain international this summer.
Olmo's Good Run Of Form In The Bundesliga Last Season Olmo put in a string of impressive displays for Leipzig on the offensive end of the field in the previous campaign. The German talent participated in 25 matches for the German outfit last season, netting eight goals and earning five assists across all competitions.
The 26-year-old has been a consistent performer in the opponent's half based on his average of 2.1 shots, 1.5 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after making 79.6% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the Red Bull Arena will run out in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for Man City to snap him up on the cheap in this transfer period.
We can expect Olmo to bring more quality and depth to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola's attack. He is more than capable of challenging for a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming years.
At 26, Olmo is about to enter his prime which makes him a worthy target for the Mancunian giants to pursue this summer. Hence, Guardiola should focus on bringing him to the Etihad Stadium before the end of this transfer window. However, there are some concerns over whether Olmo can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football if Man City manage to sign him.
