HITC understands that the Saudi Pro League have begun talks with Manchester City to seal a deal for Ederson.

Since moving to Manchester City from Benfica back in the summer of 2017, Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson has been vital for how Pep Guardiola's side have dominated the Premier League over the past seven years.

Joe Hart was replaced early on in Guardiola's reign whilst Claudio Bravo, who joined City from Barcelona, also did not last look in the North of England.

Ederson, however, has been a consistent performer for City and was labelled as 'reliable' by Guardiola and HITC reported earlier this year that the club were hopeful of an agreement over a new deal for the Brazilian shot-stopper.

Talks with Ederson's representatives have progressed with the Pro-League - who are prepared to make him the highest paid goalkeeper in world football.

We reported last month that Ederson had been offered the chance to play in the Pro League with a contract set to land the Brazilian PS500,000 a week.

If he were to agree to this, Ederson would become the highest paid goalkeeper in the world were he to move to the Saudi Pro League.

HITC is told that both Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr would like to take Ederson, as the Pro League look to hammer out a deal with City for the Brazilian, who has two-years left on his current deal at the Etihad Stadium.

City's contingency plans are in place Like so many top clubs, City have contingency plans in place should Ederson decide the time is right to depart the Etihad Stadium.

A new goalkeeper won't be targeted but Guardiola's side are set to promote from within with Stefan Ortega waiting in the wings.

The Spaniard put pen to paper on a new contract at the Etihad Stadium and HITC reported that Ortega was told he could become the club's new number one next season.
