Pep Guardiola's men began preparations for the 2024/25 campaign in Chapel Hill, North Carolina against Brendan Rodgers' side.

The first of four pre-season fixtures, City were hoping to get our US Tour off to a strong start at the Kenan Memorial Stadium against a Celtic side preparing for their fourth friendly of the summer.

Guardiola handed Erling Haaland the captain's armband for the first time, while four City youngsters were handed their senior debuts in our opening fixture.

It was the English champions against our Scottish equivalents, with the two sides playing out a thrilling contest in the North Carolina heat.
