Ange Postecoglou left Jamie Carragher in stitches after delivering a brutal put-down to Gary Neville.
The Aussie boss joined the Sky Sports pundits for a chat following the 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace, which sent his Tottenham side five points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Their incredible start has taken everyone by surprise, including Neville, who suggested earlier in the season that Postecoglou was among the managers trying to mimic Manchester City's style of play under Pep Guardiola.
"I think these coaches have taken a Pep Guardiola idea and made it quite ineffective," said Neville on Sky Sports in August. "There is no doubt there is balance between the risk and reward, but Spurs need to adapt."
In light of that comment, the Spurs boss was asked, tongue in cheek, by Carragher: "Do you think as the season goes on, with no European football, you'll be able to get your ideas across more? Because at the moment you are just copying Pep, aren't you?"
Postecoglou laughed and replied: "I just study one game a week to see what he's doing! I see what he's doing and go from there. And do you know what? There's nothing wrong with that."

An own-goal from Joel Ward broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute when he deflected James Maddison's cross beyond Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and it was 2-0 soon after when Tottenham captain Son Heung-min steered home after Brennan Johnson's assist. Jordan Ayew reduced the deficit for Palace in the fourth minute of stoppage-time, but Spurs held on to extend their advantage over City and Arsenal, who play Manchester United and Sheffield United respectively across the weekend.

Amazon Asked about a potential title challenge after the game, Postecoglou said: "Let them [the fans] dream. That's what being a football supporter is all about. It's fair to say this lot have suffered a fair bit, so I'm certainly not going to dampen that.
"Top of the table is great and the results are great but it's more in the manner we're doing it. Pretty much from the first game we've had all sorts of different challenges we've had to overcome. Every time there has been a real focus and clear-headedness about the group collectively to deal with that.
"That has been a really pleasing thing and because they're getting rewards from that, then that gives us the opportunity to accelerate the growth of giving them more tools out there to help them for whatever we need to overcome."
