Newcastle United could be forced to reshuffle their attack for this afternoon's Premier League clash against Manchester City.
Magpies' boss Eddie Howe has confirmed Alexander Isak is a doubt because of a toe injury, leaving Anthony Gordon on standby.
"Yeah, he'd be a doubt for tomorrow," Howe said at his pre-match press conference on Friday. "He trained last week before the Fulham game on the Friday. And he had an injection in his toe to play, he felt fine, but then he started to feel his toe in the last five to 10 minutes of that game.
"Then after the game it sort of stiffened up and wasn't in a great place early in the week. So he hasn't trained yet, so we'll have to make a decision again as to whether he trains today or he misses the game."
Meanwhile, Howe has some tough decisions to make in regards to other areas, the midfield and full-backs being the main two.
Sean Longstaff dropped out of the midfield against Fulham last weekend but his replacement Joe Willock was hooked at half-time. Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton have also fell below their usual standards in recent weeks with Sandro Tonali waiting in the wings.
"Certainly he's got the experience playing for a team like Milan and Italy, they're high pressure games and games where you're under pressure to perform so I think he's got that in his game," Howe said on Tonali.
"I thought he did well again when he came on against Fulham so yeah he's definitely knocking on the door."
Meanwhile, at full-back, Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento are battling it out at right-back while Lloyd Kelly and Lewis Hall are pushing to start at left-back.
