Manchester City beat Fulham 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium and while it may not have been an overly convincing win, the club did actually make a bit of history.

Manchester City fought off a fairly strong challenge from the Cottagers to take an important three points at the Etihad Stadium.

Andrea Pereira gave Fulham the lead in the first-half and they might have doubled their lead through Adama Traore.

But City got an equaliser through Mateo Kovacic, who scored again in the second-half, before Jeremy Doku scored a brilliant third for the hosts.

Fulham did grab a late consolation through Rodrigo Muniz, but thankfully it was a win for City against a very good side.

Traore was wasteful, and Ederson had to be on top form at the Etihad. After the game, goalscorer Doku praised the reliable Brazilian for his contributions.

Marco Silva's side look like they could pose a threat to a lot of teams this season and they will take real heart from their display at the Etihad.

City's unbeaten run this season continues though, and it has been quite a long time now since the club actually tasted defeat in the Premier League.

The win over Fulham means City have now gone a whopping 30 games without losing in the Premier League, which equals the club's record set between April 2017 and January 2018.

The last defeat for City came against Aston Villa back in December, when Pep Guardiola did not have Rodri at Villa Park.

Villa were absolutely superb that night and played City off the park, but clearly that served as something of a catalyst for Pep's side.

A fantastic achievement City going 30 unbeaten is very impressive indeed.

Many people expected City to struggle at the beginning of the current campaign due to a quiet summer and international players returning late.

While City have not hit top gear yet, it has been a solid start by Pep's side.

But with Rodri now injured, City will have to worked harder in games to get results and keep this fantastic run going.

We saw last season how much his absence affected the team, and even though Kovacic has done really well so far, it just isn't the same without him the Spaniard in there.
