As reported by Football Insider, Manchester City are considering a January bid for Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi. The Premier League club want to sign him to fill Rodri's shoes, who will miss the remainder of the season.

The Spanish plays as a defensive midfielder and can dictate the flow of the game. He is excellent at tackles, ball interceptions, and blocking the shots. With accurate passing abilities and good decision-making skills, he is a quality player.

His absence will surely be a big factor on the side considering the qualities he used to bring in the middle of the park.

Hence, the Citizens understand the need to bring in a player who can fill the Spanish's shoes. The club have interestingly identified his national teammate Martin Zubimendi as a viable fit. The latter also has a similar playing style and is a proven campaigner.

Liverpool were heavily interested in signing Zubimendi this summer but the player decided against joining them. Hence, it remains to be seen if Manchester City will be able to convince him or not.
