John Stones admits he went from deflation to elation courtesy of his last-gasp winner in the 2-1 triumph over Wolves.
With the game finely balanced at 1-1 deep into injury time at Molineux, Stones popped up with a dramatic decisive goal.
It was ruled out shortly after by Chris Kavanagh but on closer inspection thanks to the VAR monitor, the referee changed his decision much to the delight of Stones and those of sky blue persuasion.
"When he whistled, I didn't really know what had gone on," said our classy centre-half.
CITY SET UNBEATEN RECORD
"I've not got a clear memory of what actually happened. I just remember getting a good contact on it and seeing it go in the net. That was it. It was quite crowded in there.
"When he whistled, I was shocked. I didn't know what it was for until I looked up at the big screen. I was a bit deflated after I'd gone and celebrated with the fans and all the lads.
"To see him come away from the screen and point at the centre-circle, it was pure elation."
Stones, talking to Club TV, also discussed the belief in the dressing room, his fellow goalscorer Josko Gvardiol and our new unbeaten run club record.
