The starting lineups are in for Manchester City’s clash with Southampton

Manchester City and Southampton have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today's Premier League encounter at the Etihad Stadium. City host the struggling Saints but anything could happen at the Etihad today.

The world champions will enter today's match without six key players. Rodri, Oscar Bobb, Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku are all ruled out of today's match. That is a blow for the champions but there absence does provide opportunities for others to shine.

Southampton come to the Etihad sitting 19th in the Premier League table. Russell Martin's side has struggled so far this season. They have one point from their opening 8 games. It does appear that Southampton may be set for a relegation battle this season based on their start to the 24/25 season. They will be eager to kick start their season with a positive result and performance against the world champions.

Here are the starting lineups as Manchester City bid to continue their unbeaten start to the new campaign.

Manchester City Pep Guardiola has made four changes to the starting lineup that dispatched Sparta Prague on Wednesday. In comes Ederson, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic. Out goes Stefan Ortega, John Stones, Nathan Ake and Ilkay Gundogan who all drop it the bench for today's match.

Starting lineup: Ederson, Lewis, Ruben Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol, Kovacic, Bernardo Silva, Foden, Savinho, Nunes, Haaland.

Substitutes: Stefan Ortega, Carson, Stones, Ake, Gundogan, O'Reilly, McAtee

Southampton
