Manchester City are no strangers when it comes to spending money to bring new players to the club.

For example, previous transfer windows have seen City splash the cash to sign players such as Matheus Nunes, Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku.

Even though Savinho was the only player the Blues paid to bring in during the previous summer transfer window, they were linked with moves for multiple other names throughout that particular period.

Since then, Pep Guardiola's side have gone unbeaten on the pitch across the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup.

Off the back of the previous transfer window, some behind-the-scenes details have come to light regarding one player who was on the Manchester club's radar last summer.

The report then added this on the matter.

It said: "Suitors will have a fresh opportunity to take advantage of a PS68m release clause written into Eze's deal at the end of the season after they opted against pouncing during the summer, GMS sources have learned, but Palace will not allow him to embark on a fresh challenge unless close to PS60m comes their way in the form of an upfront fee.

"GMS sources have been told that Tottenham, Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United are among the Premier League rivals to have Eze on their radar as a potential acquisition after putting future recruitment plans in place, but Palace are preparing to use a similar tactic to a matter of months ago by holding out for a lucrative upfront fee in 2025."

Phil Foden loves 'unbelievable' Eze City were linked with a transfer move for Eze last summer.

Although it was reported in August that Eze's PS68m release clause had expired, this latest report says it will become an option for clubs to trigger again this summer.

One player currently at City who would presumably love to see the Palace star make a move to Manchester is Phil Foden, who shared this praise for Eze back in August.

He said: "I just think he's unbelievable the way he controls the ball it's everything about him the way he moves on it and someone I rate really highly."

So far this season, the 26-year-old has bagged three goals and delivered two assists in 11 games for the Eagles across the Premier League and Carabao Cup.

While a January move for the England international could prove to be difficult for City to secure given Palace's current stance, the prospect of landing a deal for him in the summer could be something worth keeping an eye on.
