Stefan Ortega could leave Man City in search of regular first-team football at Bundesliga winners Bayer Leverkusen, sources have told Football Insider.

Reports in Germany have suggested Xabi Alonso's side are searching for a long-term replacement for Lucas Hradecky.

Sport Bild claim Ortega, 31, and Cologne star Jonas Urbig, 21, are on the radar for Leverkusen.

Sources say a return to Germany as a first-choice shot-stopper is a "very tempting" prospect for the City star.

He has less than two years left to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium after joining two years ago.

The goalkeeper has made four appearances this term, keeping two clean sheets and conceding three goals.
