Nottingham Forest dealt Anthony Elanga injury blow after 'something happened'

Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga has been forced to pull out of the Sweden squad with an unspecified injury.

The 21-year-old arrived at the City Ground from Manchester United in the summer. He has scored two goals in Garibaldi Red so far, with one of them coming during Sunday's 3-2 defeat at West Ham.

But he could now potentially be facing a spell on the sidelines. Sweden manager Janne Andersson announced Elanga's withdrawal from international duty at a press conference on Monday according to Fotbollskanalen (via SportWitness).

"Something happened during the match (against West Ham) that caused him to suffer an injury," he said.

"The club has to communicate what the status is, but it was not good enough for him to contribute during this international break."

Forest will be hoping that Elanga will be back fit for their next Premier League clash after the international break. Steve Cooper's side will be in action against Brighton on Saturday, November 25.
