"The Premier League would never recover": Chris Sutton makes comment about Manchester City's 115 charges
Source:Manchestercity

Chris Sutton has been speaking about Manchester City and those 115 charges after Everton were punished by the Premier League.

The 50-year-old was chatting to Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail on the It's All Kicking Off! podcast.

So, what was said about Manchester City? Let's take a look...

What's the story? Well, Ladyman suggested that the Premier League would never relegate Manchester City due to the club's commercial value in English football - if the Citizens are found guilty of any wrongdoing.

However, Sutton argued that the Premier League "would never recover" if they went easy on Manchester City because they own superstars such as Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.

He said: "Everyone at Everton will be keeping an eye on these 115 charges Manchester City are facing and seeing how that pans out, but I do not believe that what you're saying is possible. Everton cannot be treated differently. What sort of precedent would that set moving forward? The Premier League would never recover from that."

Any small slap on the wrist will not suffice - Pep Guardiola himself even admitted he would walk away if he found out Manchester City had misled him, so all eyes are on those in charge of the decision.

When Manchester City might be punished As aforesaid, all eyes are on the verdict involving Manchester City - Everton even revealed in their official statement that they will be monitoring "any other cases concerning the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules" closely.

However, we look set to have a long wait ahead of us before an outcome emerges.

Therefore, those calling for Manchester City to be punished should settle down, as this case still has a very long way to go.
