Erik ten Hag has treated 21-year-old Man Utd 'magician' badly, he deserves a chance - opinion

Results are on the up right now at Manchester United with four in a row, but there's one player who won't be thrilled with his manager.

Since 2024 began, Manchester United have been a different beast on the field, unbeaten this calendar year so far despite some really tricky games.

This has seen a rise to sixth and just three points behind Spurs who are in fifth place, making Champions League qualification once more a real possibility.

In this run, Rasmus Hojlund has emerged as a real star, scoring seven in his last six while also assisting two.

Either side of him, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford have also been great on the main, but that's no excuse for the non-use of Amad Diallo.

His pre-season injury saw him return to action in late December, from the bench against Nottingham Forest.

MORE UNITED STORIES

In this game, despite playing just 36 minutes he impressed and left fans excited to see more from the wonderkid we've all been keen to watch in action.

However, since his return appearance, he hasn't played a minute - sitting on the bench without a look-in, despite one game being against League Two opposition.

This is absolutely ridiculous for a player who could have been sent on loan in January if Erik ten Hag had zero intention of using him. Amad must be livid with this as he deserves to be getting minutes to prove his worth.

Ten Hag simply must give Amad a chance in the team Amad may not work out at United, however, he's a talent big enough to give the chance, especially in cameos while results are going our way.

For example, on Sunday against Luton Town, Garnacho looked fairly tired and his end product was suffering, which might've been the perfect time for an Amad cameo.

If Ten Hag doesn't play him and he then is sold this summer and goes on to be incredible elsewhere it'll be an embarrassing blow for the Dutch boss given he's not given him a real chance.

Even if the plan is to sell, cameo minutes will only add to his transfer value given he has caught the eye in his only display this season to date.
