David Ornstein has shared the information he has been given from behind the scenes at Manchester United concerning what INEOS think of Erik ten Hag.

There is a hint of optimism about Manchester United on and off the field right now. There have been a number of bleak years for fans. But the tide appears to be turning.

INEOS have taken control of a stake in the club. And Sir Jim Ratcliffe has wasted little time making some significant changes in the day to day running.

INEOS impressed by Erik ten Hag Manchester United have appointed Omar Berrada as their new CEO, with Berrada coming in from Manchester City.

Ten Hag has needed a lot of time to start silencing his doubters at Old Trafford. And had Manchester United not had such a disappointing time with several managers before him, it would not have been a surprise had ten Hag been dismissed by now.

But United seem to have turned a corner with their recent form, winning their last five games in all competitions.

And speaking on FIVE Insider, David Ornstein noted that the new decision-makers appear to be content with the Dutchman.

"Very slick, and they've not wasted time in bringing about evolution? Revolution you could call it. Depends on what side of the fence you sit on in terms of what needed to be done at Old Trafford," he said.

"So Omar Berrada was the chief executive, seen as a really key installation from the outset. That came in mid-January. And they'll get him in the summer after his own gardening leave period at Manchester City. And he will be in day to day charge of operations at Manchester United. He'll report in to ownership, he'll take a seat on the board. The board will include Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc, but we don't know what sort of titles they will have, if any, unless they're on behalf of INEOS and the ownership.

"My information is that they're behind Erik ten Hag and they like what they've seen in him. And they're going to build forward with him for the time-being. Obviously, there'll need to be a conversation in the summer when he'll have a year to go on his contract, plus an option to extend."

Brighter times may lie ahead for Manchester United The optimism amongst fans will be cautious at this stage. Manchester United have huge amounts of work ahead before they close the gap to the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.

There appears to be so much which needs to change. But perhaps the manager has done enough to get the chance to show that he is the right man to lead the club forward.
