Two Manchester United players have made their feelings about Sir Jim Ratcliffe's minority takeover clear by liking the club's post on Instagram.

On Tuesday, United confirmed INEOS founder Ratcliffe's deal to purchase 27.7 per cent of the club.

Ratcliffe said: "To become co-owner of Manchester United is a great honour and comes with great responsibility.

"This marks the completion of the transaction, but just the beginning of our journey to take Manchester United back to the top of English, European and world football, with world-class facilities for our fans.

"Work to achieve those objectives will accelerate from today."

It promises to be a new era at United following 19 years of mismanagement under the Glazer family.

Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez are among the 336,825 to have liked a post confirming Ratcliffe's involvement with the club.

United are currently sixth in the Premier League, five points outside the top four.

The deal is worth around PS1.03 billion and Ratcliffe will invest a further PS100 million by December 24, 2024.

It's believed the extra funds are intended to enable future investment in infrastructure at Old Trafford.

United return to action against Fulham on Saturday afternoon.
