Manchester United have reportedly given up on Antony and are preparing to cut the underperforming winger loose at the end of the season.

The Brazilian, who joined from Ajax for a reported PS86 million (Sky Sports) was one of Erik Ten Hag's big summer signings 18 months ago.

However, despite becoming the Premier League's seventh most expensive signing, Antony, 23, has been a major disappointment. Scoring just nine goals in 69 appearances, in all competitions, the South American has been one of United's most disappointing signings.

Consequently, the club, led by the Glazer family and new shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe, have been forced to slash their asking price to just PS43 million (EUR50 million) - a huge discount for any club looking to offer the struggling Brazilian a route out of his Manchester nightmare.
