Manchester United staff actually believe there is a youngster at Old Trafford who could become as good as Cristiano Ronaldo.

It was Rickie Haywood-Williams who made the claim when speaking on The Footballer's Football Podcast.

So, who do those inside Manchester United think could emulate Cristiano Ronaldo? Let's take a look...

Manchester United think they have Cristiano Ronaldo 2.0 Well, it is said that staff at Manchester United believe Alejandro Garnacho could follow in the Portugal international's footsteps.

Tom Cairney asked on The Footballer's Football Podcast: "Who has the highest ceiling out of Garnacho, Hojlund and Mainoo?"

Haywood-Williams replied: "People are saying that they reckon Garnacho is going to be."

Cairney then responded: "What, like the next Cristiano?"

Haywood-Williams added: "That's what they have been saying, that's what I've been hearing. We can't predict these things but from the murmurings I'm hearing coming out of Old Trafford, they are saying that he has the potential to go to that level."

Garnacho has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 33 appearances across all competitions this season, and has previously been compared to Ronaldo by Tim Sherwood.

Alejandro Garnacho has a long way to go Of course, Garnacho is an unbelievable talent - and it is easy to forget the Argentine is only 19.

However, comments like the one from Harwood-Williams are unlikely to help the South American actually reach the level of someone like Ronaldo, who was remarkably just 21 years of age when he won the first of his five Ballon d'Ors.

Manchester United must strive to avoid putting more pressure on Garnacho's young shoulders.

Garnacho is undoubtedly a fantastic talent, but he has plenty of work to do if he is to emulate the Al-Nassr's No.7's remarkable career.
