Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been praised by Michail Antonio for playing "years ahead of his game".

The West Ham United forward was speaking on the latest episode of the Footballer's Football Podcast about the Red Devils talent.

Mainoo has become a fixture in the Manchester United starting XI this season after making his first Premier League start in November.

The 18-year-old also scored his first Premier League goal earlier this month, a superb solo effort against Wolves to hand the Red Devils a 4-3 win.

Mainoo's efforts have been key in helping Manchester United embark on a five-game winning run in all competitions, of which four have been in the league.

"I think it has to be Mainoo. Because of how he plays," said the Hammers man.

"He doesn't need to change and doesn't have the pressures. He doesn't need to score any goals.

"But he has got the quality now and is playing years ahead of his game. He's so calm on the ball.

"Whereas Garnacho and Hojlund they have to keep scoring, they have a harder job.

"So Mainoo I think has less pressure but he has the quality, so that's why I think he will keep shining.

"Whereas Hojlund has the most pressure because he has been brought in."

It's always great to see an academy talent make the breakthrough at a huge club like Manchester United.

Mainoo is a player of the highest calibre with an incredible future ahead of him, and it'll be exciting to see how he continues to develop for club and for country.
