Manchester United's eyes are already turning towards the summer transfer window, with former star Cristiano Ronaldo attempting to convince captain Bruno Fernandes to leave Old Trafford

Manchester United have just two games left before their nightmare season is finally over.

A major overhaul is expected at Old Trafford this summer, with talks of an exodus already gathering steam. Captain Bruno Fernandes has emerged as a surprise contender to depart, with Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr team keen to sign him.

Ronaldo is pushing for Fernandes, his team-mate with Portugal, to join him in Saudi Arabia. Those talks between the duo comes as Erik ten Hag hit back at Wayne Rooney after the United legend claimed his players are feigning injuries.

And Sofyan Ambrabat's agent has flown into Manchester for talks over the flop's future. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest Manchester United news.

Ronaldo is understood to have urged his club to move for Fernandes, who held a meeting with United last week to discuss his future. He has two years remaining on his current contract at the Red Devils.

But having identified him as their No.1 target, Al-Nassr are willing to test United's resolve to keep Fernandes with a mega offer that they believe would convince Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his football leadership team to cash in on him.

Ten Hag hits back at Rooney Erik ten Hag has hit back at Wayne Rooney after the United legend claimed some injured stars are able to play but are hiding away. Rooney believes some of those currently sidelined are saving themselves for the FA Cup final and Euro 2024, though that theory holds no weight with Ten Hag.

"I think you have to see here in Carrington the players are desperate to play," said Ten Hag. "I see Licha Martinez, I see Bruno Fernandes - he did a fitness test on Sunday to play. Marcus Rashford did everything he could do.

"He trained and tried to train last week, but he didn't make it. Players are desperate to play, they want to be in the right shape. You see also Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane, they are training to make themselves available for the final. They do what they can do."
