Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has said that his time at Manchester United was not easy following a strong end to the 2023/24 campaign.

The African star has been one of United's star performers in recent weeks, following his extended run in Erik Ten Hag's starting XI. Currently on-loan from Fiorentina, it has previously been reported that United has decided against signing the 27-year-old on a permanent basis.

Reflecting on his time at the club, Amrabat believes that he could have contributed more to the team if he played regular football. Nevertheless, the Moroccan expressed that he was happy to help his teammates when called upon.

"It was not easy, of course, because everybody wants to play," Amrabat told MUTV.

"I had to be patient, but I was always ready for the team. when they need me, where they need me, even it was one minute or 10 minutes. I always give my best, in training, I try to help the team.

"I think there's only one thing that you can do; work hard and wait till the chance will come. [It's] maybe a bit late, end of the season, but I'm happy that the chance came and that we won today.

"It's also nice to show yourself, but it's still not Sofyan Amrabat on the top, how I can play. It's my second game now in four, five months that I played 90 minutes, so I'm not 100 per cent as normal."
