Manchester United's Premier League campaign has just one more game to go after beating Newcastle United 3-2 at Old Trafford.

United needed a response after losing to Crystal Palace and Arsenal without scoring a goal across the two defeats.

Erik ten Hag took the bold step of playing without a recognised striker but United managed to secure all three points.

Kobbie Mainoo opened the scoring before Anthony Gordon levelled it up for Newcastle.

Amad Diallo lashed United back in front and substitute Rasmus Hojlund appeared to wrap it up by making it 3-1.

Newcastle did pull a goal back but United saw the game out to end the Old Trafford campaign on a high.

Alejandro Garnacho names his Manchester United Player of the Year Ten Hag sent a message to United fans after the final whistle, thanking them for the continued support whilst looking ahead to the FA Cup final.

United have just one Premier League game to go, heading off to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.

The end of another season means fans will be naming their Player of the Season.

Bruno Fernandes will understandably be a frontrunner for the award having turned in a superb season whilst many around him have struggled.

Alejandro Garnacho has named his winner - and it isn't Fernandes.

Commenting on Instagram, Garnacho picked out full back Diogo Dalot, commenting 'player of the season' on Dalot's post.

Garnacho no doubt appreciates Fernandes for his efforts this season but has gone with fellow Portugal international Dalot instead.

Dalot has turned out 35 times in the Premier League this season, notching one goal and three assists.

Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka had been competing at right back for years with neither really making themselves the undoubted first choice.

Dalot has really kicked on this season though and he certainly deserves to be in the mix for the Player of the Season award.

The 25-year-old has shown his quality at both left back and right back, continuing to show his versatility under Ten Hag.

Many United players have fallen to injury over the course of the season but Dalot - as well as Fernandes - has been a real constant at the back.
