Manchester United are set for a major overhaul when it comes to the playing staff in the summer and one of their current stars could be set for a move of his own

Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat could earn a second Premier League chance even if he leaves the club.

The Moroccan star has endured a tricky season at Old Trafford since joining the Red Devils on-loan from Fiorentina. He has struggled for consistency - something that could see United turn down the option to sign him permanently.

However, Amrabat could stay in the Premier League regardless. With the Red Devils not signing him permanently, a couple of their rivals are interested in a deal.

According to The Sun, Crystal Palace and Fulham are eyeing him. It's suggested that both sides have been scouting Amrabat this season.

Elsewhere, Fulham are keen to add to their midfield with Joao Palhinha expected to leave this summer. Amrabat, 27, has made 28 appearances in all competitions for Man United this season.

Speaking after Wednesday evening's win against Newcastle, he expressed his regret at not showing his best form this season. He said: "I'm very happy we won today. That's the most important thing, but of course, it's nice to show yourself, although it's still not Sofyan Amrabat at the best I can play.

"I think it's my second game now in four or five months that I've played 90 minutes, so I'm 100 per cent normal, but I'm happy I played good and the team played good.

"It's not been easy because everyone wants to play, I've been patient and always ready for the team when they need me, whether for one or 10 minutes, I always give my best. You can just work hard and wait for the chance to come. That chance might have come a bit late in the season, but I'm happy it did."

Boss Erik ten Hag was full of praise for the midfielder and his performance against Newcastle. He said: "I think he [Amrabat] was playing a very good game. Very important in pressing and counter-pressing, a really good job. Keeping the team together, keeping the team compact and good moments to press so we can control the game more."

Regardless of his future, Amrabat will be hoping to round off his United stint on a positive note. The Red Devils take on Brighton on the last day of the season before an FA Cup final meeting with Manchester City.
