Manchester United are looking to hit the reset button, effectively trying to start again under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.

Money is tight this summer, with the new owners looking to cut back, before re-investing in players and staff members that they fully believe in.

The one player I'd personally build around is Bruno Fernandes. It makes sense. He's club captain and the leader of this team - both in terms of performances and general nature. However, INEOS may not view it that way...

In an exclusive, Manchester World outline the latest on Bruno's future - and it's not all sunshine and roses...

According to their information, Bruno is 'open' to signing fresh terms at Old Trafford, though the club are currently 'reluctant' to hand a new contract to the key star.

That's because INEOS are trying to reduce player power within the dressing room, while also looking to reduce overall spending on salaries.

Don't worry, it's highly unlikely that Bruno will leave this summer regardless, due to the fact that his current deal runs until 2026. Yes, we'd all feel a little uneasy if the man from Portugal was allowed to enter the last year of his contract, but we're still twelve months away from that.

Fernandes does feel like the one player who deserves a mega-money deal here in Manchester. I definitely do not agree with using him as the example on that front, but I guess that's just the way it has fallen.

As for Bruno, it is reassuring to hear that he does want to stay. I certainly had doubts about his willingness to remain a Red Devil, particularly after this disastrous campaign...
