Man United want to sign exciting 22-year-old winger according to Fabrizio Romano, not easy to secure signing: report

Man United are still keen on bringing in Michael Olise, though securing his signature is going to be tough.

The summer transfer window is now on the horizon. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is looking to make a positive first impression. With money tight, that may mean only one or two major signings, assuming the Reds continue to find it tough to sell players in order to generate extra cash.

Among the big needs is a right-winger of genuine quality and class. Antony has not lived up to the hype, while it remains to be seen whether Amad has what it takes. One name linked with filling the right-wing void is Michael Olise.

The Crystal Palace man is enjoying another stellar season, scoring goals galore and looking like a genuine threat on a week-in-week-out basis. Who wouldn't be interested in his signature?

Now, Fabrizio Romano, per Give Me Sport, has given his latest information on that front, reaffirming the belief that United want to sign the exciting 22-year-old winger.

However, the Italian journalist has stated it's not going to be easy, given interest from other clubs in the Premier League. All of whom finished higher in the Premier League...

"Chelsea wanted him one year ago, now there is interest also from other clubs including Newcastle and Arsenal so it's going to be busy for Olise."

I'd love Olise at Old Trafford. He feels like the ideal signing for the Ratcliffe regime, though I do struggle to see how the Red Devils pull this off.

The club are now keen on reducing the wage bill, so there's no way INEOS will sanction overinflated wages to bring him in. That would have been our only edge, given the dismal end to the season United have had.

It feels like a long shot, while it's dependent on other clubs not showing sufficient interest in Olise. Then it's about tempting the player to make the move to Manchester. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he turned us down in order to stay at Crystal Palace.
