2 Manchester United finished their dismal Premier League campaign with a win but that was not enough to stop the team from finishing eighth, their worst-ever since the competition's inception.

Goalscoring has been a major issue throughout with the Red Devils scoring the joint-least amount of goals among the top-10 sides in the top-flight.

Despite a difficult debut campaign where he was overworked beyond reason, Rasmus Hojlund ended up as the top-scorer with 16 goals but he still needs time to adapt and learn how to be an effective striker in the physical Premier League.

Anthony Martial is set to leave while Marcus Rashford was a shadow of his former self in this campaign, and there are question marks regarding his future.

Gyokeres is a target Erik ten Hag always wanted a striker to ease the burden on the young Dane but no help was forthcoming from the Glazers, even in January. But new co-owners INEOS are expected to address this issue this summer.

According to Jornal de Noticias, the 20-time English league champions are chasing both Viktor Gyokeres and Evanilson to ease their woes upfront.

The Swede was the top-scorer in the Portuguese league with 29 goals to his name as he helped Sporting CP win the title under Ruben Amorim.

The former Brighton star scored 43 times in all competitions and has a release clause of PS85.6million. He is hot property at the moment with all of Europe's elites keeping a close eye on his future.

Evanilson is a complete package The Brazilian also enjoyed a great season with 24 goals in all competitions and six assists and Porto will demand the same amount to release the 24-year-old.

There is interest from the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham but his prohibitive release clause means a deal will be far from easy.

The 24-year-old is an astute passer and excels in link-up play, something United have missed this season. His arrival would add a different dimension to United's forward play.

But with funds tight, and with INEOS favouring players with Premier League experience, it remains to be seen whether either of the aforementioned duo land up in Manchester this summer.
