Rashford, Mainoo, Maguire and Shaw – Man United players' chances for England Euro 2024 squad

Four Manchester United players would appear to have a decent chance of inclusion in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the upcoming European Championship.

Southgate is today (Tuesday) set to name a provisional squad of 30 players - to be reduced to a maximum of 26 - for the tournament. United stars Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw will all be waiting by their phones hoping for a call.

England have friendlies against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland in early June before their final 26-man squad must be submitted, ahead of their Euro 2024 opener against Serbia on June 16.

Maguire seems nailed-on for a place in the squad, despite having suffered with injury lately. United boss Erik ten Hag said the central defender had a chance of being fit for the upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City and therefore should make the summer tournament.

Southgate recently said that the increase in squad size from 23 to 26 players may tempt him to pick players who aren't fully fit - giving them a chance to recover for the finals in Germany.

Ten Hag has cast a doubt on Shaw's fitness for the tournament, although the United player is England's first choice left-back when fit and firing. The Three Lions don't have too many alternatives in his role.

Shaw recently had a setback on the road to recovery from his muscle injury. Ten Hag said: "For England, I can't say - it's not up to me. But for the cup final, we're working on it. Harry Maguire, I think it's a fair chance he will be available."

Rashford, however, has seen plenty of competition spring up for his place and therefore his ticket to Germany could be in jeopardy. The likes of Anthony Gordon, Jarrod Bowen and Jack Grealish could all be preferred to the United man on the left wing. Rashford's United form has been poor lately, although he's often been a favourite for England.

Although he's away on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Jadon Sancho is the other United player with a chance of inclusion, though he may have timed his run of form in the Bundesliga too late to break into the picture.

Mason Mount won't be included after his injury-plagued season, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not in the England conversation either.
