Danny Murphy tells Liverpool to sign Man Utd targets to replace Mo Salah

But should they let their talisman go, the former Reds midfielder wants the club to reinvest the money into signing Crystal Palace duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze.

This summer will be one of big change at Anfield, with Slot officially announced as the manager who will take the reins from Klopp who has left the club after nine incredible years.

He inherits a very impressive squad and it remains to be seen who fits into the Dutchman's plans, with reports suggesting that he will build his team around forwards Salah and Darwin Nunez.

But the Egyptian King has been tipped to leave Anfield as he enters the last year of his contract, with clubs from the Saudi Pro League primed to once again make a mega money offer.

Asked if Slot would be able to get the best out of Nunez, who has somewhat underwhelmed at Anfield, Murphy said on talkSPORT: 'It depends if Salah stays or goes as well.

'If Salah goes, they'll bring another person in, someone's going to have to step up and get 25 goals. I wouldn't sell Salah unless he's saying, "I want to go".

Asked who could replace the prolific winger, Murphy added: 'If I got PS100million for Salah, I'd give the PS100million to Palace and take Olise and Eze, I'd get two for the price of one.'

Winger Olise and attacking midfielder Eze are two of the hottest properties in the Premier League right now, with their outstanding form under Oliver Glasner propelling Palace from relegation contenders to a top-half finish.

Liverpool would face difficulty signing either or both however, given the strong interest in the players, particularly from rivals Manchester United who have long had an eye on 22-year-old Olise.

Moreover, the Eagles want at least PS60m for each player, and it is said that neither are pushing to leave Selhurst Park and are currently committed to the new project under Glasner.
