Marcus Rashford 'left out of provisional England Euro squad by Gareth Southgate'
Source:Dailystar

Marcus Rashford will play no part in Euro 2024, with the Manchester United star expected to be snubbed by Gareth Southgate.

Rashford, 26, has struggled for form with the Red Devils this season - and it looks to have cost him a spot in the Euros squad. According to Sky Sports News, Rashford will not be part of Southgate's 31-man long list that will be announced at 2pm on Tuesday.

The United star first made his England debut back in 2016, and he has since made 61 appearances for the Three Lions, chipping in with 17 goals. He was part of Southgate's last squad, making a 15-minute cameo off the bench against Brazil.

Rashford isn't the only causality of Tuesday's announcement, with Jordan Henderson also reportedly not part of Southgate's squad. Henderson is expected to be replaced by the uncapped Curtis Jones, who has impressed for Liverpool.

While Jarell Quansah, Eberechi Eze, Adam Wharton and Kobbie Mainoo are all expected to be on the list.

"But we think Southgate has bitten the bullet early, taken that decision early and not included Rashford in this provisional squad, so he will not be going to the Euros.

"It's a significant piece of news. I don't think it's like Henderson where, at the age of 33, you've got to question whether his non-involvement means the end of his international career.

"I don't think that's the case for Rashford, who is still in his mid to late 20s. He has got an England future, but he won't be at this tournament - the first one he will have missed since before the 2018 World Cup."
