Marcus Rashford, Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling and more have been excluded from Gareth Southgate's provisional 33-man England squad for Euro 2024, whilst some exciting young prospects have made the cut.

It's a bold move from the manager, with his new-look side featuring a blend of new talent and experience from the old guard.

Both Rashford and Henderson have endured difficult campaigns for different reasons. Rashford has underwhelmed at Manchester United, scoring just seven goals and two assists, whilst Henderson started the season in Saudi Arabia after a controversial transfer, before moving to Ajax.

Other notable absentees from the squad include Ben Chilwell, Eric Dier, Reece James, Jadon Sancho, Dominic Solanke, Raheem Sterling and Ben White. Chilwell was not picked despite injury concerns over Shaw and neither were Chelsea's James and Sterling. Solanke, who played all 38 Premier League games for Bournemouth last season, scoring 19 goals, is also missing. Sancho, on loan at Borussia Dortmund, and Dier, who has been playing regularly for Bayern Munich, were not selected either.

Southgate must reduce the current squad by at least seven players to finalise his team for the tournament in Germany. The final squad of up to 26 players must be confirmed by the deadline of midnight on 7 June.
