We're growing tired of talking bout how much Manchester United need to sign a centre-half this summer, though the links will inevitably continue until an acquisition is made in that area of the park.

The name most linked with filling the Raphael Varane-shaped hole is Jarrad Branthwaite. The Englishman's asking price could prove to be a problem, hence, the Old Trafford side are now looking at other possibilities.

Leny Yoro is another target. The Frenchman, aged just eighteen, has made his first-team breakthrough for Lille recently and is now starting to attract major transfer attention.

It's Spanish media outlet Marca with the claim. They state that United have made a big to sign the teenage defender this summer, though the Reds' transfer for the player has hit a snag...

Yoro himself wants to join Real Madrid, which is fair enough given the fact that they have Champions League football on the table, as they look to defend their crown.

Liverpool are also said to have made a bid to sign the defender, though they're in the same position as United, with the player himself wanting Los Blancos.

This is all immaterial until Real Madrid themselves make an offer to Lille for Yoro. However, the La Liga giants are known to be interested in the young man - and it does feel like just a matter of time before they officially enter the race.

Suddenly, deja vu is striking for United and they're struggling to land their main targets once again. This has been a recurring theme for the Old Trafford side over the Glazer years. Let's hope Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have plans to turn things around.
