Manchester United in talks to seal shock move for £70m Chelsea flop playing in Italy

According to Sabah, as reported by Sport Witness, Manchester United are keen on a surprise move for Atletico Madrid forward Alvaro Morata this summer.

United had almost secured a move for the Spain international in the summer of 2017 before he went to Chelsea for an outlandish fee of PS70m and had an underwhelming spell, while United signed Romelu Lukaku instead.

Now 31, Morata has been delivering consistent performances for Atleti over the past couple of seasons and is available this summer for a bargain price.

The EUR12m price tag is attracting interest from all over Europe with the likes of AS Roma, his former side Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Fenerbahce (managed by Jose Mourinho, who wanted him at United back in 2017) also interested in Morata alongside United.

Morata makes sense the more you think about it Much maligned for always being offside and not being as consistent with goals as one would want from their forward, Morata brings a lot to the table that United would want in their striker to pair with Rasmus Hojlund.

Morata is experienced, good at bringing other players into the game with his link-up, and a stable presence in the dressing room, likely to accept the role United would be offering him.

More Manchester United News- His wage demands might prove to be a bump in the road, but if United can reach a reasonable agreement on the front, given the release clause, this is a move United should pursue.
