20-Year-old Man United talent 'looks set to depart' club despite new contract offer, considering options: report

Man United midfielder, Shola Shoretire, is looking likely to leave the club this summer.

Manchester United are expecting a transfer window filled with high player turnover this time around. INEOS are now in charge. They're trying to curb the overspending and limit player wages. Yes, it will take time, though Sir Jim Ratcliffe has to start somewhere, right?

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is looking likely to be the first major sale of this era, though another fringe first-teamer is also going to say goodbye to the Old Trafford side over the coming weeks; Shola Shoretire.

It's Manchester World with the scoop. They state that the 20-year-old United talent now 'looks set to depart' the club, despite having a contract offer on the table from the Reds.

Shoretire has been 'locked' in contract talks with United over the second half of the season, as he considers his options.

United are still hopeful that a late agreement can be reached with Shoretire, though there is now a' growing expectation' he will leave when his current deal expires at the end of this month.

Shoretire has been at United for eleven years now, remaining on the fringes of the first-team for what feels like several campaigns. United still believe they're the best spot for the player to continue his development, despite a lack of first-team appearances.

Perhaps a clean break is exactly what's required at this stage. Shoretire is yet to be given chances on a regular basis - particularly in competitive matches. We've seen him in pre-season every now and then, while he has also been sent out on loan before. It doesn't look like he's banging down the door for first-team minutes at this point in time, so it could make sense to let him walk.
