Mary Earps to leave Man Utd and become highest-paid women's goalkeeper in the world

The club future of the England star, crowned the best goalkeeper in the women's game at the start of the year, has been under intense speculation with her contract at Old Trafford set to expire this summer.

While there have been negotiations over a new deal, Earps is now on the brink of leaving United to sign for PSG on a free transfer, Le Parisien report.

United turned down a world-record bid for their goalkeeper from Arsenal last summer but are now set to lose her for nothing.

The report suggests Earps' move to the French capital could be announced before the end of the week.

Earps joined United in 2019, helping the club win the Women's FA Cup last season after beating Tottenham 4-0 in the final.

However, the future of United's women's team has come under scrutiny following comments from their new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Asked what they are doing with the women's team, Ratcliffe replied: 'Well they've just won the FA Cup.'

He continued: 'We haven't gone into that level of detail with the women's football team yet.

'We've been pretty much focused on how do we resolve the first-team issues, in that environment, and that's been pretty full time for the first six months.'
