Man United braced for surprise bid as club could look to sign in-form star this summer: report

Man United could receive a bid for Alejandro Garnacho, from Saudi Pro League side, Al Hilal.

It's widely documented that Manchester United could be in a situation where they have to sell before they can buy. The Old Trafford club have tight finances as Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks to tighten the belt a little, in order to balance the books.

Several names have been linked with potential exits from Old Trafford, including four fringe first-teamers, who are available for the right price.

However, reports from Alkass TV Sports, with the information relayed by the Daily Express, believes Alejandro Garnacho has emerged as a target for Saudi Pro League side, Al Hilal.

Apparently, United are braced for a surprise bid from the club, as the Saudi Pro League winners look to sign the in-form Reds star, who finished the season strongly.

Garnacho played pretty much every game for United since the turn of the year, emerging into a key player under Erik ten Hag. The wide man capped off a top season with a goal in the FA Cup final.

Al Hilal are looking to add more star power to a dressing room that's jam-packed with quality, as they look to bring in not only Casemiro, but also young Garnacho this summer.

The Express believe it's 'widely expected' that Garnacho will remain at United this summer, though fair play to Al Hilal for trying to upset the applecart, by signing one of the Reds' top performers over the last season.

With respect to the Saudi Pro League, it's typically a place where older players go for one final pay-day, rather than a young player at the start of his career.

The footballing world is currently at Garnacho's feet right now. Why would he leave the most lucrative league in the game when he's still just nineteen years of age? It just wouldn't make sense.
