All the latest Premier League transfer news, including Man Utd, Arsenal, and West Ham

We begin Saturday's Premier League transfer rumour roundup with positive news of Manchester United's apparent interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte. The Red Devils have been heavily linked with the Uruguayan in recent days, with the understanding being that he has emerged as a priority target for Erik ten Hag's side, and that a bid of around PS29.6 million could be on the cards.

Now, in a further update on the situation, South American outlet Fichajes have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to claim that the 23-year-old 'would love' to play for United, and that Old Trafford is seen as an 'ideal destination' by those who represent him. Ugarte is expected to be deemed surplus to requirements in the French capital this summer.

The 3AM Verdict: This is good news for United. With Ugarte likely to leave PSG in the coming weeks, there is bound to be a decent amount of interest in the midfielder, but the fact that he reportedly favours a move to Old Trafford could give the Red Devils a distinct advantage in their pursuit. Price could be an issue, but if the demands are reasonable, this could be a savvy piece of business.

Arsenal make Kounde contact Elsewhere, Arsenal are said to have made contact with Barcelona ahead of a prospective swoop for Jules Kounde. According to a report relayed by El Desmarque, the Gunners are keen to capitalise on the Catalan giants' precarious financial situation, and have reached out to express their interest.

For their part, Barca are understood to be open to the idea of selling Kounde this summer, but there is no word yet on how, if at all, talks have developed. The versatile defender is currently away on international duty with France at Euro 2024.

The 3AM Verdict: This is an interesting one. Kounde is a quality player, and one who would improve just about any defence that he was parachuted into. That being said, the Gunners have strong options in both the centre and on the right, and it is difficult to imagine the Frenchman being brought in as a rotation option only. What's more, Kounde himself stated earlier in the year that he would ideally prefer to stay in Spain if possible. Certainly one to keep an eye on.

West Ham in Walker-Peters talks And finally, West Ham have reportedly held talks with Southampton over a potential deal for defender Kyle Walker-Peters that would see midfielder Flynn Downes move to the south coast on a permanent transfer. The 25-year-old spent last season at St. Mary's and could now be used as a makeweight to lure his 2023/24 teammate to East London, according to the Telegraph.

Walker-Peters has one year left on his contract with the Saints, who would likely also pay a fee for Downes if the full-back did complete a switch to the Hammers. There is also a suggestion, however, that the two transfers may end up being structured separately.

The 3AM Verdict: Walker-Peters would be a fine signing for West Ham. A real shining light in the Championship last season, the full-back is capable of operating on either flank, and would provide cover and competition in an under-stocked area of the pitch for the Irons. If they could complete a deal while also receiving a fee for Downes, even better.
